Eighty (80) million tonnes is the amount above is the decoration waste we accumulate every year, which is equal to the volume of 1.2 million football fields. If done properly, we can actually halve the decoration industry waste generated by using orange byproducts, such as peels and pulp.

Orange byproducts appear everywhere: in markets, food businesses, and homes. Food businesses accumulate the lion’s share of the waste, and oranges are just thrown into trash.

High Cellulose content in orange makes it great for biocomposite material production. Combined with the right binders, we can create a 100% natural, non-toxic material.

Kikkis processes the post-production orange byproducts and transforms them into raw materials. Materials are then used to create various type of products, starting from decoration.

Trial and error was essential in developing a suitable material to 3D Printing. Multiple pneumatic systems were made and tested. Liquid Deposition Modeling was the most suitable process.
