Meet Hoki'pooh! Hoki’pooh is a game designed for 8-10-year-old children, aims to build empathy for hard of hearing and visually impaired people.
Meet our mascot: Hoki'pooh! (where it crowns the game's name too!) Different shapes of the mascot play a crucial role in explaining these differences in a playful way.
There are six unique task types under the same color that a player can be faced with, which are:
-Blue: Blurred vision, which adds challenge by using roughened glasses
-Pink: Blind spots vision impairment, which focuses on reading difficulties
-Orange: Complete vision-impaired eye, where depth perception declines
-Yellow: Striped vision impairment, where detail finding significantly reduces
-Purple: Color vision deficiency, which makes it impossible to separate certain colors
-Green: Hearing impairments, where assistive devices cannot pick certain letters/words
Overall, we tried our best to impact children positively, especially children in their development phase. Creating awareness for diverse people is crucial, as we are all living together in similar environments. Knowing what to do and how to behave in the same environment can mean a lot for them.
